Essential Oils and How to Buy Them |

Essential Oils. Where to even start? You have heard a lot about them but feel overwhelmed with the amount of products out there. Been there, done that! There are literally hundreds of brands, but believe me you want the good stuff.  You are doing your research and that is a GREAT start.

In case you don’t already know, essential oils have been used for thousands of years and can be seen in history as far back as 5,000 years ago. The practice is nothing new and quite simple. Essential oils come from plants and have therapeutic properties that can help one’s wellness.  Just like you use aloe from an aloe vera plant for your sunburn, you can use MANY other plants to support your body. You can apply oils directly to the skin, take them internally and diffuse them into the air.

From Young Living’s blog:

One of the most enduring records of essential oil use during the Roman Empire is the New Testament. Israelites used essential oils such as frankincense, cedarwood, hyssop, fir, and spikenard to heal wounds and elevate spiritual communion. The most famous example of the value that essential oils had in Israelite culture is in the telling of the birth of Jesus, to whom gifts were given of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

I mean, how cool is that? If they are good enough for Jesus, they are good enough for me! However, not all essential oils are created equal.

I use Young Living Essential Oils. After TONS of research, I feel most comfortable with this company. Just like there are tons of brands for makeup and laundry detergent, there are tons of brands for essential oils. Because I am putting something on and in my body, I wanted to make sure I had the LEGIT oils. No off brands or super diluted ones from the drug store. No sir.

Young Living prides themselves on their Seed to Seal process. From the very plant all the way to the finished product, Young Living is in charge of the oil. This is very important. Why? Because they make sure the oil is 100% therapeutic and pure with no middle man. They see the product all the way through. If there is not enough crop of a specific plant, they don’t make that oil. They don’t add fillers just to sell a product. How amazing!?

They make sure the plant itself is a true plant – no artificial seeds. They work with researchers to make sure the plant will reach its full potential. No chemicals are used around the plant. They do weeding BY HAND y’all. The plants are distilled in stainless steel distilleries because plastic and wood take away from the pureness of the oils. The oils are all tested before they are sold. They are sealed and bottled in amber glass bottles to continue the protection of the oils.

And that’s just the short story. You can of course, read more on their website. They have an awesome video that will just make you LOVE this company.

Fun fact: It takes 75 lemons to make a small bottle of lemon essential oil.

* Mind-Blown* I TOLD you they were 100% pure!! Talk about concentration!

The best way to use essential oils is to use them everyday. It’s not just for when you have a headache. It’s a lifestyle. Essential oils are for creating a positive emotional state, enhancing physical wellness and spiritual awareness, purifying your home and even refining your beauty routine. Young Living goes beyond the oils with their full collection of beauty products, cleaning products and supplemental support products.

The other thing I LOVE about essential oils is the many MANY way to use them. You really can’t use an essential oil wrong because your body uses them for what it needs.

  • Lavender helps me fall asleep when I diffuse it but it also helped that giant bruise I had on my shin (from WHO KNOWS what) disappear.
  • Peppermint feels great on my temples after a long day but also helps freshen my home as I diffuse it.
  • Stress Away (bonus oil in the starter kit) is perfect to diffuse while I watch TV so I can wind down but it also works wonders on my cat who sometimes runs around my home like CRAZY. 😉

And those are just a few examples of their versatility.  It took me about 7 seconds to go from skeptic to obsessed.

Don’t buy oils from the drug store. That’s like getting Rose Art when you want Crayola. Or Covergirl when you want Bare Minerals. You know EXACTLY what I am talking about.

Buy Essential Oils from me, here!

So, how do you buy Young Living essential oils?

Young living is a multi level marketing company. You need a sponsor to become a member of the company.

Now, I know what you are thinking – ” ugh, not another pyramid scheme!”

But please, don’t think that. Unlike other MLM companies, Young Living does not require that you buy a ton of products upfront to sell. There is no minimum amount you HAVE to buy at first either. It is what you make of it. Even if you sign up as a wholesale member, you are still not required to sell products. You NEVER have to deal with inventory. EVER.

Because I am presenting this business opportunity to you, I must include the following link which explains Young Living’s compensation plan.

There are two options.

You can sign up as a retail customer or a wholesale member.

Retail Customer:

Basically, Young Living wants you to set up an account before you buy your oils. You still need a sponsor ID BUT it is only to give credit to the person who refers you to the company. Your sponsor will receive commission for the products you buy. It’s up to you to choose the oils you want.

Product Recommendations: I recommend starting out with Lavender, Thieves, Lemon, Peppermint, Frankincense, Panaway and Digize. They also make kits like this one, the Everyday Oils. I also would look into the other products like the laundry detergent, hand sanitizer and NingXia Red. Those are a few of my favorite products.

Wholesale Member:

THIS IS HOW YOU BUY WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK. Want the most bang for your buck? Read this, friend!

Want to be that sponsor and potentially make a little side income? Sign up as a wholesale member and you receive 24% off products. You get your own sponsor ID to give to people so they can sign up underneath you. It’s also known as your downline. They create an account, order products and you get commission since you are their sponsor. Remember, you don’t see the inventory. Young Living takes care of all of that for you. YAS. The only requirement for wholesale members is that you purchase a starter kit. It is a $160 investment but worth over $350 and includes a Young Living diffuser, 11 of the most popular oils, and some samples to give to people (or keep for yourself ;)). Then, to keep your wholesale status, you only have to buy $50 worth of products a YEAR. And that is just too easy. That’s it!
