Netflix released a new British-American series called, The Crown, on November 4, 2016. I LOVE historical fiction so when I heard that Peter Morgan was directing a series about Queen Elizabeth II, I was super pumped.

First of all, let me tell you that there are ZERO spoilers in this post.

Here’s the trailer:

I just want to talk about how dang pretty this series is! It was the PERFECT Fall show to cozy up to on a cool November evening. Elizabeth II is one of the most famous people in the world. To get a glimpse into what her world was like early on in her reign is absolutely thrilling.

Can you tell I love the show yet? No? Ok, I’ll continue 😉

Netflix Series : The Crown

The Crown is based on a play and takes place in the 1940s. The cinematography is stunning and captures the era perfectly. I am always so impressed by the quality of sets, acting and lighting. I guess I should just accept the fact that Netflix knows what they are doing.

I’ll be honest and say that there were some slow parts at times and I found myself taking care of dishes or laundry while it played in the background. However, it was captivating enough to watch the entire thing over one weekend!

I am not the only one who throughly enjoyed the series. The Crown has already been nominated for three Critic’s Choice awards including Best Drama Series.

Rumor has it that there will be five more seasons to look forward to so you need to get a head start now! I would recommend this show to those who enjoy Downton Abbey and other Historical Fiction pieces.
